Icaros Desktop Light 1.4 now available

The "Light" version of Icaros Desktop 1.4 is now available for download. It needed some hard time to cut down the Live distribution to a 700 MB CD-ROM size, but in the end we managed to do that keeping all the base features of Icaros Desktop. With the Light edition you can still:

- Load M68K games and demos on ADF files using AROS boot ROM
- Integrate Amiga Forever into AmiBridge and gain access to AmigaOS™ 3.x applications
- Surf the web using the new, astounding Odyssey Web Browser 1.16 ported from MorphOS
- share your MyWorkspace files over a local network using the FTP protocol
- manage your AROS box using a VNC client over the network
- create your music with Audio Evolution 4
- emulate 8 bit machines from Commodore with VICE
- read PDF files with ArosPDF
- use the main applications included in Icaros Desktop

What you can't do is... well... all the rest. Due to size limits, we had to cut off the distribution all games but three, all applications and all development tools, except the required ones (in a nutshell: everything that might lead to errors if not in place), all bonus and whistles like sounds, images, wallpapers, example video and so on. In practice, Icaros Desktop Light can be used as a boot disc for an AROS system, better than regular nightly builds, but people who want a complete Icaros experience (or wish to start developing on it) really should choose the Live! edition instead.
