Well, if you have installed VmwAROS VE on VMware, and then you tried the LIVE! version on your real PC or, why not, another virtual machine technology, maybe you noticed a little difference between the two: the Live! version hasn't our new nice disk icons for AROS: and Work: volume. Well, there is a little workaround, thanks to the fact that I always forget some details before doing important things like releasing a distribution...
This time I forgot to delete contents in the PUB: directory, so I left here a copy of the user-startup file, the original package of PortablE (yes, it was the last program I added to VmwAROS 0.8 before releasing it) and, luckily, a copy of the icon PNG file. So, well, adding this icon is a matter of seconds. Here's what to do:
1. open a new shell with rAros (rWin) + W
2. type in these commands:
pub:
copy disk.png aros:disk.info
copy disk.png work:disk.info
...and then right click on the mouse, and select Window > Update option from Wanderer menu. You'll get the icon on the Live! version too. Just remember that, after you have done this, normal behavior for AROS: and Work: will be "show icons only" as default. To see all your files again you'll need to choose the option Show > All files in the Window menu.
