Icaros Desktop is a pre-configured AROS desktop environment for the PC platform, distributed on a bootable live media. The AROS Research Operating System is a open source lightweight, efficient and flexible desktop operating system, aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS 3.1 at the API level, while improving on it in many areas.

UPDATE! Update file for version 2.0.2 has been removed due to some problems reported by users. Please update your distribution to version 2.0.3 to fix all issues.

A new update for Icaros Desktop is now available from our website. This version is almost a bug-fix release and does not add new astounding functionalities to the system, although it should improve stability and reliability. Users of YouTube should be happy to find YouTubeCentral among OWB scripts: once enabled, they will be able to download videos from the famous media portal and play them with MPlayer.

In order to install it, you need Icaros Desktop 2.0.1 already installed on your system. Please use the LiveUpdater (LUPD) tool to install this update. Users of Icaros Desktop 2.0 should update their system to version 2.0.1 before applying this patch. Both updates are available on our download page.
