Icaros Desktop is a pre-configured AROS desktop environment for the PC platform, distributed on a bootable live media. The AROS Research Operating System is a open source lightweight, efficient and flexible desktop operating system, aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS 3.1 at the API level, while improving on it in many areas.

I really wish to thank Neil Cafferkey: in this exact moment, I am writing this post with Icaros Desktop 1.2.4, connected to the Internet without cables using his atheros 5000 wi-fi driver. I'm not the first AROS man surfing the web this way, and a few steps are still needed before this new addition to the OS will be mature enough for the mainstream, but it works, and this is the most important thing.
