Icaros Desktop is a pre-configured AROS desktop environment for the PC platform, distributed on a bootable live media. The AROS Research Operating System is a open source lightweight, efficient and flexible desktop operating system, aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS 3.1 at the API level, while improving on it in many areas.

I really would like to thank Aros-exec's user Mmartinka, who has posted this wonderful screenshot of VmwAROS running on a Mac with Parallels Desktop 4.0. This virtual machine has a great advantage over the competition: it supports sound as well. In order to gain a fairly nice VmwAROS experience on Parallels, please set up AHI prefs to use AC97 (both for Music and Unit 0), and ConfigIP to use RTL8029 for networking.

PS: NO, I haven't ever tried installing VmwAROS directly on a Intel-based Mac, so I absolutely don't know if it would run natively.
