Boot problems?

Some users in our support forum complained about VmwAROS LIVE! 0.7 incompatibility problems, manily during boot time. This is a common problem of AROS nightly builds starting from mid march, and we're looking for a solution. In the meanwhile, I suggest people having troubles to run VmwAROS LIVE! under a VMware virtual machine. A work-around solution will be published as soon as a fix is available. People with some hacking skill might try this:

- Download an old AROS nightly build and install it (following the same instructions about installing VmwAROS LIVE! in our PDF documentation)

- Boot the system from hard drive using the old AROS files just installed

- Copy these directories from VmwAROS LIVE! cd to AROS: (DH0)

  • C
  • Classes
  • Libs
  • Prefs
  • S
  • System
- Copy Extras directory either on WORK: (if you have installed extras and development files in work) or in AROS: (if you have used a single partition).

- Reboot

It should work now.
