If you're using Icaros Desktop version 1.4.2, please download and install the update pack to v.1.4.3. This is a sort of "1.4.2 r2" or "1.4.2 patch 01" kind of release, not a ordinary update in the Icaros habits, so there won't be a full Icaros Desktop Live! 1.4.3 release as usual. In a nutshell, whoever wants to have Icaros 1.4.3 installed on his system from scratch, will need to downlod and install 1.4.2 first, and then use LiveUpdater to bring his system to 1.4.3.
WHAT'S NEW
Icaros Desktop 1.4.3 should fix issues with Development stuff some users of 1.4.2 complained about. Please notice that only Live! users could use Icaros to code software: the Light version misses almost all necessary files, due to CD size limits. Installing 1.4.3 on a Light installation will add about 120 MB of software, so pay attention if you're using a tight partition or a tiny USB pendrive. Some programs have been updated, for instance WildMidi library, MP3 Player and LoView have been brought to a more recent - if not their latest - version. This version does not include any other new feature, but refreshes AROS system files to a recent nightly build.
INSTALLATION
Use LiveUpdater's "Internet" option to download the update pack, or download it from the site if your AROS machine is not connected to the Internet. In this case, use the "File" option to locate your update pack and install it. This update pack requires Icaros Desktop version 1.4.2 already installed on the hard drive and is NOT compatible with 1.4, 1.4.1 and former releases.
NO MORE NTFS SUPPORT?
This is the second release for Icaros update 1.4.3: a first one including a half-working NTFS handler has been removed, since some users experienced compatibility issues with it. The version you can download from now on does not include the faulty component anymore, and sadly this means you won't be able to access NTFS volumes yet. Sorry for that.
