The first update to Icaros Desktop 1.4 is now available for download. It includes a faster, enhanced version of Deadwood's OWB port and provides a new feature many people were waiting for: the ability to transfer files over Windows shared folders. Network preferences have been updated with a brand new panel called "File Servers", where AROS users can place settings for Windows shares over the local network. Please notice this is a initial release, so support is still limited to NAS devices, SAMBA configured shares and Windows 9x/2000/XP shared folders. We hope support will be extended to Windows 6.x based operating systems in the future (they include Vista, 7, 2008, 2008 R2 and 8).
A BETTER BROWSER
Icaros Desktop 1.4.1 includes the latest version of Odyssey Web Browser, which includes many enhancements we won't anticipate here (a complete list of features will follow in the next days, when the browser will be actually released). People who download Icaros update, however, will be able to use it today. We would just like to tease you with this picture:
